VanHurt works inside the operations of corporate clients managing complex international business. We sit at the desk, draft the commercial documentation, and move the work forward.
VanHurt is a commercial consultancy specialising in advisory and operational support for clients managing complex international business. We are execution-led. Our clients are corporate entities operating across multiple jurisdictions, independent brokers and mandated intermediaries, and companies entering bilateral or multi-region trade for the first time — concentrated in North America, with particular depth in the Canadian market.
Most consultancies sell frameworks. We sell movement. The agreements that close. The relationships that hold under pressure. The documentation that survives professional scrutiny. For brokers and introducers, that includes the non-circumvention and fee-protection instruments (NCNDA / IMFPA) that keep an intermediary’s commission position intact through to settlement.
We do not provide regulated financial, investment, or money transmission services. We support the commercial and operational discipline that real engagements require, and we hold ourselves to the standard of being useful by Tuesday morning, not impressive in a deck.
Our work concentrates where the documentation is heaviest, the margins are tightest, and the consequences of getting it wrong are unforgiving. We chose these sectors deliberately.
Operational support for corporate clients managing the supply of consumable goods at scale. Engagement covers commercial agreement structuring, supplier diligence, and documentation discipline through each stage of delivery.
Advisory and execution support for clients sourcing industrial inputs at volume. We engage where commercial structures are bespoke, transaction values are substantial, and discipline matters more than scale.
Embedded operational support across multi-jurisdictional delivery. We integrate with procurement, finance, and compliance teams to carry engagements from initial agreement through final completion.
The engagements that succeed are not the ones that were pitched best. They are the ones that were prepared best, drafted tightest, and chased hardest.
We sit inside client operations rather than presenting from outside them. Daily standups, shared workflows, and a seat in the procurement and compliance reviews that matter. The output is movement, not slides.
Commercial agreements drafted to survive professional scrutiny. Operational documents prepared correctly the first time. We treat every clause as the one that will eventually be read by a lawyer.
We work with a deliberately small number of clients each quarter. The economics of execution-led work mean we cannot be everywhere. We choose the engagements where our discipline genuinely changes the outcome.
Execution-led work does not scale through headcount. Every engagement is led by a named practitioner with direct accountability. No analyst layers between the work and the client.

Three years in sugar commodities trade operations, an environment defined by tight documentation standards and unforgiving settlement timelines. Responsible for compliance review and documentation integrity across active engagements.
Every engagement is treated as an active desk: scope, commercial terms, documentation, counterparties, and open actions are kept visible until the work closes.
Principal conversation translated into scope, required documents, delivery cadence, and decision owners.
Agreement structure, counterpart obligations, payment milestones, and operational dependencies made explicit.
Drafts, revisions, supporting records, and compliance notes tracked as working instruments, not static files.
Open actions, handoffs, stakeholder responses, and close-out requirements managed until execution is complete.
A four-stage process that holds across every engagement, regardless of sector. Disciplined at the front so the back is clean.
Direct conversation with the principal. Scope, sector, and engagement profile assessed inside the first call.
Engagement scope, commercial structure, and documentation roadmap agreed in writing. No work begins on a handshake.
Integration with client procurement, finance, and compliance functions. Shared workflows, weekly delivery cadence.
Agreements drafted, relationships managed, operations coordinated, engagement closed. Delivery, not deliverables.
